All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Southampton County Virginia USGenWeb Archives Deeds Ann CLOSIER to Sion WILLIAMS, deed of bargain & sale, 100a., 11 Feb 1772, acknowledged 13 Feb 1772 [margin note] Coshier [sic; Closier] to Williams This Indenture made this 11 day of Feby. 1772 Between Ann Closier of the County of Southampton of the one part and Sion Williams of the same County of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Ten pounds current money of Virga. by the said Sion Williams in hand paid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof the sd. Ann Closier doth hereby acknowledge and thereof acquit and forever discharge the said Sion Williams his heirs ex'ors and adm'ors forever by these presents she the said Ann Closier hath granted bargained sold alien'd released & Confirm'd and by these presents [page break] [p.] 425 doth grant bargain sell alien Release and confirm set over and deliver unto the said Sion Williams his heirs and assigns forever all that measuage tract or parcel of Land situate lying and being in the parish of Nottoway and county of Southampton containing one hundred acres (by estimation) be the same more or less and bounded as follows To wit beginning at a Spanish oak in Joshua Joyners (formerly Bridgman Joyners) line thence sd. Joyners line to a Gum thence to a white oak a line tree of Joseph Mountfortts land (formerly Thomas Swans) thence a line of new marked trees to the first station, and all houses outhouses edifices buildings woods ways waters and watercourses profits Low grounds profits commodities hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the same belonging [or] in any wise appertaining and the reversion & reversions remainder & remainders rents Issues & profits thereof and all the estate right title & Int. of her the said Ann Closier of in and to the same and every part thereof To have and to hold the said measuage tract & parcel of 100 acres of land and premises with the apperts. unto him the sd. Sion Willms. his heirs and assigns forever & the said Ann Closier and her heirs the said 100 acres of Land and premises with the appurtenances unto the said Sion Williams his heirs and assigns forever against her the said Ann Closier her heirs and assigns and against all persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these Presents In Witness whereof the sd.
