This Indenture made this 26 day of January in the year of our lord Christ One thousand Seven hundred & Seventy nine Between David Bunn of the county of Southampton and parish of Nottoway of the one part & Hardy Bunn of the parish & county aforesaid, of the othe part witnesseth that for & in consideration of the Just Sum of one hundred pounds Current money of Virginia by the Said Hardy Bunn to him the said David Bunn in hand paid before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge & thereof acquit and discharge the said Hardy Bunn his Heirs and assigns forever & my Self therewith fully Satisfied & paid and I the said David Bunn have Granted bargaind Sold delivered and confirmed and by these doth grant bargain Sell deliver and confirm unto the said Hardy Bun and to his heirs and assigns forever one certain Tract or parcel of land lying on the Cypress Swamp in the county of Southampton and parish of Nottoway it being part of a patent granted to David Bunn bearing date the 25.th day of July 1746 Containing by estimation one hundred and fifteen acres be it more or less Begining at a gum by the side of the Cypress Swamp thence along a line of Markt to a hicory in Henry Oberys line thence by the said Oberys line to a Red oak over the run of a Small branch thence along a line of Markt trees to a pine by the side of the rooty branch thence Down the Rooty branch to a Dividing line between Cutchun Councill and Hardy Bunn thence along a line to a gum by the Side of the said Cypress Swamp thence up the various Courses of the run of the said Swamp to the begining place To have and to hold to the said Hardy Bunn his heirs executors administrators and Assigns forever and I the said David Bun for myself my heirs executors administrators shall and will warrant and forever defend the said land and premises unto the said Hardy Bunn his heirs executors administrators & assigns from all Manner of persons lying and Claim by from or under them in witness whereof I the said David Bunn hath hereunto set my hand and fixed my Seal the day and date above Written Signed Sealed and Delivered his In presents of John Obery } David X Bunn ¤ls¤ Thomas Lankford Tho.s Mountfortt} mark Joseph Mountfortt [margin note] Ex.d [page break] [p.] (434) Received the 26.th day of January 1779 of Hardy Bun the Sum of one hundred pounds Current money of Virginia being the Considera above mentioned his Test David X Bunn Thomas Lankford mark Joseph Mountfortt / At a Court held for the County of Southampton the 14.th day of October 1779 This Indenture was partly proved by the Oathes of Joseph Mountfortt & John Obery two of the Witnesses thereto ___ and at a Court held for the said County the 9.th Day of October 1783 _ The said Indenture was fully proved by the Oath of Thomas Mountfort another Witnesses thereto and ordered to be Recorded ___ Teste Sam Kello Cl:S:Cou: ~^~ ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ Southampton Co., VA, Deed Book 5 (1773-1781), pp. 433-34 The Library of Virginia, Southampton Co.
