All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Southampton County Virginia USGenWeb Archives Deeds Jonas JOYNER & wife Mourning to Jacob TURNER, deed of bargain & sale, 135a., 9 Feb 1786 [margin notes] Joyner & ux.r to Turner This Indenture made this 9.th Day of February in the Year of Our Lord Christ One thousand seven hundred & Eighty six Between Jonas Joyner and Mourning his wife of the County of Southampton and parish of Nottoway of the One part, and Jacob Turner of the same Parish and County of the other part Witnesseth that the said Jonas Joyner & Mourning his wife for and In Consideration of the Just and full sum of Twenty ~ eight Pounds Current Money of Virginia by the said Jacob Turner to them in hand paid, before the ensealing & Delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof they the said Jonas Joyner & Mourning his wife Doth hereby Acknowledge & Thereof Acquit & Discharge the said Jacob Turner his heirs and Assigns forever, and themselves therewith fully & Intirely Satisfied, Contented and paid they the said Jonas Joyner and Mourning his wife Have, granted, bargained, sold, aliened, [page break] [p.] (476) Enfeoffed, released, set over delivered and Confirmed, and by these presents Doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, release, set over, delivered & Confirm unto the said Jacob Turner, and to his heirs and Assigns forever, all that plantation mesuage Tract & parcel of Land whereon the said Jonas Joyner and Mourning his wife now lives, situate Lying and being in the County of of Southampton, and Parish of Nottoway Aforesaid, and being the whole of a Tract of Land, Granted, to Barnaby Drake jun.r by letters Patent bearing date the twenty sixth day of July One thousand seven hundred & Sixty five and Conveyed to the said Jonas Joyner, by deed from the said Barnaby Drake, recorded in the County Court of Southampton, in the year of our Lord 17[blank] | Containing One hundred & thirty five acres be the same more or less, & being bounded & described as by the aforesaid Pattent is expressed & declared, and all the houses, out houses, Edefices, buildings woods, ways, Waters, & Water courses, Low grounds, Profits, Commodities, hereditaments, and Appurtenances, whatsoever to the same belonging, or in any wise Appurtaining, and the, Reversion, & Reversions, remainder, and remainders, rents, Issues and profits thereof, and all the Estate, right, Interest, claim, &, Demand, of them the said Jonas Joyner & Mourning his wife, of in &, to the same and every Part and parcel thereof, To have and to hold, the said plantation.
