        deed of bargain & sale, Lot 2, Jerusalem, 25 Aug 1795 (14 Apr 1796)

This Indenture made this 25th. day of August in the year of our Lord Christ 1795 
Between John Wright & Sarah his wife of the County of So.ton & State of Virga. of the one 
part & Josiah Vick of the same county & State aforesd. of the other part  Witnesseth that 
the sd. John Wright & Sarah his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Ģ107,,10. 
Current money of Virga. to them in hand paid by the sd. Josiah Vick at & before the signing 
sealing & delivery of these Presents  the receipt [whereof] the said John Wright & Sarah his wife 
doth hereby acknowledge & themselves therewith fully Satisfied & contented & paid 
have bargain'd & Sold & by these Presents doth hereby bargain & Sell Alien enfeoff & 
confirm unto the said Josiah Vick his heirs & assigns a certain lott or half acre of 
land lying & being situate in the Town of Jerusalem in the County of So.ton 
& State of Virginia & distinguish'd by the Surveyors Plan of the said Town by the No. 
Two, thus (2) bounded as follows (to wit) Begining on the main Street  thence bind
ing on the county land to the River  thence down the River 184 feet 4 Inches to the

corner of Number three, thence on ^ Number 3 to the main Street  thence 
binding on the main Street 108 feet 4 Inches to the Begining together with all houses 
outhouses Garden ways waters & Water courses Mines & Minerals and all other of 
the Profits & commodities thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining with 
all the Estate right title Interest claim and demand of them the said John 
Wright & Sarah his wife  To have and to hold the sd. bargaind Premises with 
every of the appurtenances unto the said Josiah Vick his heirs & assigns forever 
with the reversion & reversions remainder & remainders rents Issues & Profits there 
of and every Part & Parcel thereof  And the said John Wright & Sarah his wife for 
themselves their heirs Executors and administrators doth covenant Promise grant 
& agree to and with the said Josiah Vick his heirs Exors & admors that at the 
of the Signing & Sealing and delivery of these Presents that they the sd. John Wright 
& Sarah his wife Stands lawfully Seiz'd & Possess'd of in & to the said bargain'd 
Premises in a Pure & good estate in fee simple & that the same is fully freely 
and clearly acquited and discharg'd of and from all manner of former deeds 
Gifts, Grants, dowers & Jointures & of and from all manner of incumbrances whatsoever 
& that they the sd. John Wright & Sarah his wife for themselves their heirs Ex'ors 
& adm'ors will warrant & forever defend by these Presents the sd. bargain'd pre=
mises & every of the appurts. unto the said Josiah Vick his heirs & assigns against 
the lawful claim of all and every Person or Persons whatsoever & Whomsoever 
In Witness whereof they the said John Wright & Sarah his wife hath hereunto 
set their hands & affix'd their Seals the day & Year above written

  Wm. Chrichlow }  Memorandum  that on the 25th. day of August 1795  Quiet & Peaceable 
  Nathl. Newsum } Possession & seizen of the land & Premises within mention'd was given 
& delivered by the within named John Wright & Sarah his wife unto the said Josiah Vick 
to hold to him his heirs & assigns forever in fee simple according to the true intent and 
meaning of the within deed 
Witness 

At a court held for the county of Southampton the 14th. day of April 1796  This Inden_
ture and the Memorandum of livery of seizen & the receipt thereon endors'd were ac
knowledged by the within named John Wright & Sarah his wife (Parties hereto) 
She being first Privily Examin'd as the law directs And Ordered to be recorded
