To all &ca:  Whereas &ca:  Now Know Yee that I the Said Francis 
Nicholson Esqr: Governr: &ca:  Doe with the advice and Consent 
of the Councill of State accordingly Give and Grant 
unto Robert Smelley  Thomas Giles  Joseph Bridger 
Lewis Smelley and William Smelley  Six hundred Seventy 
eight acres of Land on the South Side of the Main 
blackwater on the Cypress Swamp Comonly known 
by the Name of Quin Quan  begining at the Mouth 
of a branch & Soe runing up the Various Courses of

the Said branch to a Marked white oake  thence runing North 
Eighty five Degrees west one hundred and Sixty pole to a greate 
pine  thence North Sixty one Degrees west Ninety pole to a white 
oake  thence South west one hundred Eighty two pole to a greate 
pine on the South Side of the Said Swamp   thence up the Said 
Swamp North thirty Seven Degrees and a halfe west Ninety 
Six pole to an Arme of the Swamp  thence west five degrees 
North Seventy pole to a white oake Standing in the for of[??] 
a branch  thence South thirty degerees West two hundred twenty 
Seven pole to a pine  thence South Sixty five degrees East 
Eighty two pole to a black oake  thence North fifty degrees 
East one hundred and one pole to two black oakes  thence 
East two degrees South one hundred thirty eight pole to a 
pine  thence South fifty five degrees East two hundred 
thirty eight pole to a live oake Standing in the head of 
a branch  thence North twenty nine Degrees East one hundred 
and eight pole to a pine by the Side of a Meadow  thence 
down the Said Meadow and Crossing the afores'd Swamp to 
the first Station  the Said Land being Due unto the Said 
Robert Smelley  Tho: Giles, Joseph Bridger  Lewis Smelley 
and William Smelley  by and for the transportac'on of four=
=teen persons into this Colony whose names are to be in 
the Records Mentioned under this Patent  To have and To
