All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Southampton County Virginia USGenWeb Archives Deeds Josiah VICK & wife Elizabeth to William URQUHART & son, deed of bargain & sale, Lot 2, Jerusalem, 18 May 1800 (17 Jul 1800) [margin notes] Vick & wife to Urquhart This Indenture made this 18th. day of May in the year of our [Lord], One Thousand Eight hundred, Between Josiah Vick and Elizabeth his wife of the County of So.ampton of the one part and William Urquhart & Son of the County of So.ampton of the other part Witnesseth, that the said Josiah Vick and Eliza. his wife for and in Consideration of the sum of one hundred and Eighty pounds Current money of Virginia to them in hand paid at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt Whereof, the said Josiah Vick and Elizabeth his Wife doth hereby Acknowledge and thereof Acquit and Discharge the said Wm. Urquhart and Son their Heirs and Assigns forever, Hath granted bargained & Sold and by these presents [doth] grant bargain and Sell, one Certain Lott or parcel of Land, lying and being in the town of Jerusalem and County of Southampton And bounded as follows (to wit) Begining on the west side of the main Street Where ["of" erased] the line of the Courthouse ground intersects the said Street, thence along the line of the Courthouse ground One hundred and Ninety eight feet to the River, thence down the River one hundred and two feet four Inches to the corner of number 3 Thence along the line of No. 3. 237 feet 6 Inches to the main street and thence Along the said Street 100 feet 4 Inches to the beginning_ being the same Lot the said Josiah Vick purchased of John Wright together with all the Appurtenances belonging thereto_ To have and to hold the said Lot or parcel of Lands with the Appurtenances unto the said William Urquhart and Son their heirs and Assigns forever, and the said Josiah Vick and Elizabeth his wife, for them selves and their heirs doth covenant and agree to and with the said William Urquhart & Son and their heirs and Assigns Shall and may at all times hereafter Quietly and peaceably enjoy and Possess the Above mentioned Land and premises free from all incumbrances whatsoever and that the said Josiah Vick and Eliza. his wife the said Lot or parcel of Land doth forever Warrant and defend from all person or persons whatsoever Claiming under them unto the said Wm. Urquhart & son their heirs and Assigns forever.
