All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Southampton County Virginia USGenWeb Archives Land Records Beasant {Beazant} BRITT & wife Milly {Milley} (BOWDEN) BRITT to John CRUMPLER, Jr., deed of bargain & sale, 5 acres, 22 Jul 1809 (21 Aug 1809) [margin note] Britt & wife To Crumpler This Indenture made and entered into this 22nd day of July in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred & nine between Beazant Britt & Milley his wife of the county of Southampton of the one part & John Crumpler Junr. of the aforesaid county of the other part Witnesseth that the Said Beazant Britt & Milly his wife for and in Consideration of the Sum of ten pounds Current Money of Virginia to them in hand paid by the said John Crumppler at or before the Sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof the said Beazant Britt & Milly his wife, doth hereby acknowle =dge, & themselves therewith to be fully satisfied & paid & thereof doth Clearly acquit and discharge the Said John Crumpler his heirs exeors. & admrs. forever by these presents hath given granted bargained and sold enfeof'd and Comfirmd. and by these presents doth grant bargain, enfeoff and Confirm and sell unto the Said John Crumpler his heirs & assigns forever, one Certain tract or parcel of land Containing by estimation five acres be the Same More or less lying and being in the County of Southampton & bounded as follows Vizt. begining at a pine a Corner tree of Joseph Britt and Beazant Britts line, thence a South to a red oak a Corner tree Beazant & John Crumpler Junr. thence a line of marked trees west to a pine a Corner tree of David Tynes and John Crumpler Junr. thence a line of marked trees Northwest to a b[l]ack oak a Corner tree of Timothy Tynes and David Tynes and the said Jno. Crumpler's line, thence thence a line of marked trees Southeast to the first Station with all houses orchards, gardins fences woods underwoods underwoods waters and water [page break] [p.] 45 Courses, and with all profits, Commodities, advantages Emoluments and appertenances, whatsoever part and parcel, thereof. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with all and singu =lar the appurtenances, unto the said John Crumppler, his heirs & Assigns to the only use and behooff of him the said Jno. Crumpler his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Beazant Britt and Milly his wife, for themselves & their heirs, the said granted land with its premises, and their and every of their appertinances, unto the Said Jno. Crumpler his heirs & assigns, Shall & will warrant and forever defend by these presents, against any person, whatsoever Caring [sic] or lawfully Claiming right title property, or interest, in order to the Same, or any part or parcel thereof. and the said Beazant Britt and Milly his wife for themselves, & their heirs doth grant Consent and agree to and with the Said Jno. Crumpler, his heirs & Assigns in manner and form following Vizt. the Said Beazant Britt & Milly his wife, at the time of the Sealing & delivery of these presents, is, and Stands Seized of and indefesible Estate in fee Simple of, in, and to the premises, and that they have a good right and lawfull authority to Sell & Convey the Same in Manner and form aforesaid, and that the Same Shall forever remain to the Sd. Jno.
