All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Southampton County Virginia USGenWeb Archives Land Records Martha TYNES to William STRINGFIELD, deed of bargain & sale, 57 2/3 acres, 21 Nov 1814 (21 Nov 1814) [margin note] Tynes to Stringfield This Indenture made this 22nd day of November in the Year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and fourteen between Martha Tynes of the county of Southampton of the one Part and William Stringfield of the aforesaid County of the other Part _ Witnesseth that the said Martha Tynes for and in consideration of the sum of ten Pounds Current money of Virginia to her in hand paid [by] the said William Stringfield at or before the sealing and delivery of these Presents the receipt whereof the said Martha Tynes doth hereby acknowledge and herself therewith to be satisfied and paid and thereof doth clearly acquit and discharge the said William Stringfield his heirs executors and admrs. forever by these Presents hath given granted bargained and sold enfeoffed and confirmed and by these Presents doth give grant bargain sell enfeoff and Confirm unto the said William Stringfield his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or Parcel of land Containing by estimation fifty seven & 2/3 acres be the same more or less lying and being in the County of Southampton and bounded as followeth Vizt. begining at a Pine a corner tree of said William Stringfield and Martha Tynes on the Bank of black water river from thence a line of marked trees Southeast to a Cypress adjoining Beazant Crumpler land in Black water from thence up said River north east to the first station _ With all houses orchards gardens fences woods underwoods waters and watercourses and with all Profits Commodities advantages emoluments and appurtenances whatsoever Part and Parcel thereof To have and to hold the said tract or Parcel of land with all and singular the appurtenances unto the said William Stringfield his heirs and assigns to the only use and behoof of them the said [page break] [p.] 115 William Stringfield his heirs and assigns forever and the said Martha Tynes for herself and her heirs the said granted land with all its Premises and their and every of their appurtenances to the said William Stringfield his heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend by these Presents against any Person whatsoever having or lawfully claiming right title Property or interest in or to the same or any Part or Parcel thereof and the said Martha Tynes for herself and her heirs doth grant Consent and agree in manner and form following Vizt. the said Martha Tynes at the time of the sealing and delivery of these Presents is and stands seized of an indefesible estate in the fee simple of in and to the Premises and that she hath good right and lawful authority, to sell and convey the same in manner and form aforesaid and that the same shall forever remain to the said William Stringfield his heirs and assigns freely and clearly exonerated and dischar =ged of and from all and all manner of bargains sales and titles of dowry and all other rights and estates whatsoever _ In Witness whereof the said Martha Tynes hath hereto set her hand and affixed her seal the day and year above written _ Signed Sealed and acknowledged } In the Presence of } Martha Tynes her x Mark ¤Seal¤ James Millar Jun.
