Know ye That For [page break] [p.] 282) Divers Good Causes and Considerations, but more Especially For and in Consideration of the Sum of Thirty Five Shillings of Good and Lawfull money For Our use Paid to Our Receiver ___ General of Our Revenues in This Our Colony & Dominion of Virginia We have Given Granted and Confirmed, and by These Presents for us Our heirs and Successors Do Give Grant and Confirm unto Edward Boykin of Isle of Wight County One Certain Tract or Parcel of Land Containing Three hundred & Twenty Five Acres Lying & being on the South Side of the Main Black Water Swamp in The County aforesaid and bounded as Followeth __ (to wit) Beginning at the Mouth of a Branch on the East Side of Barbakue Swamp) Pine a Corner Tree of Henry Harts land _ Thence by Harts Line North (which said Branch Divides this Land From Robert Harris Junr. and John Harris's Land ___ Thence up the various Courses of the Run of the said Branch to a marked Pine on the North side Thereof Then North West Eighty One Pole to a black Oak Then North Eighty __ Degrees West One hundred and Forty One Pole to a white Oak Then North West by West Eighty Pole to a red Oak __ Then South West Thirty Three Pole to a Pine a Line tree __ of Thomas Halliman's Land Then by Halliman's Line __ said South Forty Seven Pole by the side of the ^ Line ___ Branch Then down The various Courses of the Run of _ The said Branch South Sixty Four Degrees West Thirty __ Eight Pole to a Gum on the other side of the said Branch __ a Corner of the said Boykin's other Land Then by his Own __ Old Lines South Four Degrees West Forty Pole to a Pine South East Eighty Nine Pole to a red Oak & South Seven Degrees East Fifty two Pole to a white Oak Then South Seventy Degrees East One hundred and Four Pole to a ___ Small Red Oak a Line Tree of Auther & Joseph Williamson's [page break] [p.] (283 Land Then by Williamson's Line North Seventeen Degrees East Twenty Six Pole to a Live Oak by the side of a Small Branch Then down The various Courses of the Run of the said Branch to Barbakue Swamp aforesaid and up the various Courses of the Run of the ^ said Swamp to the beginning With all &ca.
