All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Southampton County Virginia USGenWeb Archives Land Records Patrick DOLES to William BOWDEN, deed of bargain & sale, 46 acres, 11 Sep 1819 (18 Nov 1819) [margin note] Doles to Bowden This Indenture made this 11th day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nineteen between Patrick Doles of the County of Southampton and state of Virginia of the one part and William Bowden of the County & state aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Patrick Doles for and in Consideration of the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid by the said William Bowden before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof the said Patrick Doles doth hereby acknowledge, hath granted, bargained, sold aliened released and confirmed, and by these presents doth grant bargain, sell, alien and Confirm unto the said William Bowden his heirs and assigns forever, one Certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Southampton, Containing by estimation forty six acres, be the Same more or less and bounded as follows to wit, beginning at a white oak standing on the main run of black water, thence a line of marked trees a dividing line between said land and Arrington Britts and Beasant Britts land to a pine a corner tree in said Bowdens line, thence down a small branch to the run of black water, thence down the said run of black water to the beginning it being .all the land which Arthur Doles late of this County bought of a certain Benjamin Britt and bequeathed to the said Patrick in his last will and testament To have and to hold unto the said William Bowden his heirs and assigns forever, and also the remainder and remainders, reversion and reversions, rents issues and [page break] [p.] 322 profits of the said tract or parcel of land, to the only proper use & behoof of him the said William Bowden his heirs and assigns forever and the said Patrick Doles for himself his heirs and assigns doth covenant, grant, & agree to and with the said William Bowden, that he the said Patrick Doles the lawfull title in fee simple of the said land will warrant & forever defend unto him the said William Bowden the said tract or parcel of land, against the lawful claim of all and every persons or persons whomsoever.
