BROCK & wife Polly (DRAKE) to Benjamin WESTER, deed of bargain & sale, 40 acres, 16 Oct 1819 (5 Jun 1820) [margin notes] Brock to Wester This Indenture made this 16.th day of October in the Year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and ninteen [sic] between between [sic] Thomas E. Brocke [sic] and Polly his wife of the County of Southampton of the one part and Benjamin Westre [sic] of the said County of the other part Witnesseth that the Said Thomas E. Brocke and Polly his wife for and in consideration of the sum of twenty dollars to them paid by the said Benjamin Wester at or before the the [sic] Sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the [page break] [p.] 144 the said Thomas E. Brocke and Polly his Wife doth hereby ackno= wledged [sic] hath given granted bargain [sic] confirmed and by these presents doth give grant and confirmed [sic] unto the said Benjamin Wester during his life that messuage or tennement whereon he now lives and after his death to Merrett Robertson drake and his heirs forever the son of said Polly Brocke We the said Thomas E. Brocke and Polly his Wife doth give grant and confirm the said tennement to the s.d Wester with forty Acres of Land to be off adjoining John Harris Land the said Thomas E. Brock and Polly his wife holds in reversion after the death of her mother Polly Bracey and the deed writing and to be taken at the proper cost of the said Benjam in Wester to have and to hold the said Messuage above Mentioned~ during |his [sic] aforesaid of the said Benjamin Wester and the said Thos. E. Brocke and Polley his wife for themselves and their Heirs the said Messuage and premises and every part thereof against them and their heirs and against all and every other Person or persons Whatsoever to the said Benjamin Westre during his life aforesaid shall and will Warrant and defend foever &C [sic] Witness our hands and Seals this 30. day of october 1819 In presence of Thomas E. Brock ĪSealĪ James Mountford her Eaton Joyner Polly + Brock ĪSealĪ Cajah Lowe mark Southampton County to Wit We Newit Harris and Jeremiah Cobb Justices of the peace in the county aforesaid do hereby certify that Polly Brocke the wife of Thomas E. Brocke parties to the within Deed bearing date on the 16.th day of October eight hundred and ninteen [sic] personally appeared before us in our County and being examined by us prively and apart from her Husband and having the deed fully explained to her She the said Polly Brocke acknowledged the same to be her act and deed and declared that she wishes not to retract it. Brocke party hereto and together with the certificate hereon endorsed certifying the acknowledgement &privy exam ination of Polly Brocke and admitted to record And at a Court held for the county aforesaid on the 19.th of June 1820 This indenture as aforesaid were entered upon the Proceedings of the day.
