Lewis Jan.y 4/1832 This Indenture made this 24th day of March in the year of our Lord christ One thousand eight Hundred and twenty between Alfred Oberry of the county of Southampton and parish of Nottoway and also Henry Oberry the Brother of the Same county and Parish of the one part and Elisha Lewis of the same county and Parish of the other part_ Witness that the Said Alfred Oberry and Henry Oberry his Brother for and in= codsideration [sic] of the Sum of One Hundred. and fifteen dollars and fifty cents to them in hand paid by the Said Elisha Lewis the receipt whereof the said Alfred oberry and Henry Oberry doth hereby acknowledge themselves fully and amply Satisfied and paid hath granted. bargained Sold, aliend enfeoff and confirmed. and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Elisha Lewis to him and to his heirs forever One certain tract or parcel of land and premises which land was Will.to the Said Alfred Oberry by his deceased father containing thirty three acres be the same more or less and bounded as follows (to Wit Begining at the Branch in Baldy Drakes line thence S 86 W 46 pole to a large pine fore and aft in the Said land and a corner of Baldy Drakes thence S 89 W 26 pole Parelltion [error underlined] thence S 81 W. 10 pole_ S 84 W 58 pole to a Maple in a Small Branch, a corner of Thomas Pretlow and Matthew Joiner thence S 30 E 20 pole along Said Branch S 25 E 12 pole S 8. E 10 pole S 69 E 12 pole N 80 E 16 pole S 66 E 14 pole to a post oak in the marked line where we left the branch thence N. 80 E 38 pole tut [?] the branch N 84. 10 pole N 43 E 45 pole along the Various Courses of Said Branch to a pine thence N 20 E 11 pole to the first Station. Together with all Houses out Houses Edifices buildings gardens Orchards ways waters and water courses whatsoever belonging Or in any wise appurtaining to the Said tract Or parcel of land and premises To Have and to Hold the Same unto the Said Elisha Lewis to him and his heirs foever [sic] and the said Alfred Oberry and Henry Oberry for themselves their heirs &C. doth by these presents covenant and grant to and with the said Elisha Lewis that they will by these presents warrant and foever defend all right title claim or demand of any person or persons claiming or demanding the Same or any part or parcel thereof In. witness whereof the Said Alfred Oberry and Henry Oberry hath hereunto Set their hands and affixed Seals this day and date within written Signed Sealed and declared in his presence of us Alfred x Oberry ĪSealĪ Jesse Lankford mark Jesse B.
