     Thomas POND to Timothy TYNES, 
        deed of release, 72 acres, 5 Dec 1821 (15 Jul 1822)

 This Indenture made this 5th. day of december in the year of our Lord 
one thousand eight hundred and twenty one between Thomas Pond of the 
first part Timothy Tynes of the second part and Harrison Stephenson adm=
inistrator of Temperance Turner decd. of the third part all of the County of 
Southampton and State of Virginia, Whereas the Said Timothy Tynes on 
the 8th. day of November in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hund
red twenty in order to Secure the payment of One hundred and thirty 
dollars and ninety three Cents to the said Harrison Griffin* De'd by Indenture 
of Trust of that date Convey to the said Thomas Pond his heirs Executors &C_ 
the following property  to wit  One Certain tract or parcel of Land Containing 
by estimation Seventy two acres be the Same More or less and bounded by the 
lands of Robert Mercer  William Bowden and Robert Adams upon trust 
for the uses and purposes in the said Indenture mentioned and whereas 
from the executing and delivering of the Said deed in trust the said 
Timothy Tynes hath fully Satisfied and paid to the Said Harrison Stephens=
on the Sum of Money Thereby Secured  Which the Said Harrison Stephenson 
doth hereby acknowledge.  Now.  This Indenture witnesseth for the consid=
eration aforesaid as well as for the further Consideration of one dollar 
in hand paid by the Said Timothy Tynes to the Said Thomas Pond at an[d] 
before the Ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt Whereof 
is hereby acknowledged he the Said Thomas Pond with the assent and 
approbation of the Said Harrison Stephenson have granted barg=
ained and Sold remised released and Confirmed and by these presen=
ts. do grant bargain and Sell remise release & confirm

unto the said Timothy Tynes all the Estate right title interest claim & demand 
both at Law and Equity which interest claim and demand Pond and Harrison 
Stephenson have or hold in the Land above described  To have and to 
hold the Said tract or parcel of Land to the Said Timothy Tynes his 
heirs executors administrators and assigns forever and the said Thomas Pond 
and Harrison Stephenson for themselves their heirs ex'ors and admrs the 
above Mentioned Land unto the Said Timothy Tynes his heirs exors & 
admr. and assigns in as full and ample Manner as the Same was warran=
ted by the Said Timothy Tynes by the deed of Trust above recited do 
warrant the Same to the Said ["Thomas Pond" overwritten] Timothy Tynes against the claim or 
claims of them the Said Thomas Pond and Harrison Stephenson and 
all persons claiming by or under them or either of them  In witness 
Whereof the parties to these presents have hereunto Set their hands 
and affix their Seals the day and Year first above written

This Indenture was acknowledged by Thomas Pond  Timothy Tynes 
and Harrison Stephenson the parties hereto and admitted to record and at a 
Court held for the aforesaid County of Southampton on the 15 July 1822 
This Indenture as aforesaid was Entered upon the proceedings of the day

Timothy executed a deed of trust to Thomas POND, for the benefit of 
     Harrison STEPHENSON, administrator of Temperance TURNER's estate, 
     8 Nov 1820.  The deed (DB18:87-88) is posted at:
