     John BOYKIN, executor of Simon BOYKIN, to Patrick DOLES, 
        deed of trust, 700 acres, 12 Feb 1825 (18 Jul 1825)

 This Indenture made this      day of February in the year of our Lord 1825 between John Boykin 
Executor of Simon Boykin decd of Southampton County and State of Virginia of the one part & Patrick 
Doles of the County and State aforesaid of the other part: Witnesseth that the Said John Boykin as 
[Exor.] aforesaid in consideration of the Sum of Twelve hundred forty two dollars and Seventy five 
Cents to him in hand paid or Secured to be paid by the said Patrick Doles at or before the ens_
ealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged  Have bargained 
and Sold and. do by these presents bargain and Sell unto the Said Patrick Doles his heirs 
and assigns one certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Southam_
pton Containing by estimation Seven hundred acres be the Same more or less and bounded 
in the following manner  to wit  Commencing at the main run of Tarripin branch at a 
Corner tree in Herod Doles.s and Joseph G. Councils line thence down the main run of 
said Tarripin branch following its various courses to the main run of Sea cock Swamp 
thence up the main run of Said Seacock Swamp to George. Wilsons and Samuel 
Whitfields line thence aolong said Wilson and Whitfield line an East Course to Herod 
Doles.s line thence along Said Doles line to Tarripin branch to the beginning together 
with all. and Singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appur_
taining and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders yearly & other rents 
issues. and profits thereof and of every part and parcel thereof.  To have and to hold 
the said. tract of Land with the tenements hereditaments and all and Singular 
other the premises herein before mentioned or intended to be bargained and Sold 
and every part and parcel thereof with every of their rights members & appurtenan_
_Ces. unto the Said Patrick Doles his heirs and assigns forever and the said John Boykin 
Executor as. aforesd. for himself and his heirs the Said land with all and 
Singular the premises and appurtenances before mentioned unto the Said Patrick 
Doles. his. heirs and assigns free from the Claim or claims of him the said John 
Boykin Ex'or as aforesaid and his heirs and all and every other person or persons whom
_soever shall. will and do warrant and forever. defend. by these presents

In the Clerks office the 20th. June 1825.  This Indenture was acknowledged by John 
Boykin Exor of Simon Boykin decd. the party hereto and admitted to record  And at a Court held 
for the aforesaid County of Southampton on the 18th. July 1825.  This Indenture as 
aforesaid was entered upon the proceedings of the day

Simon BOYKIN left will 15 Jan 1823, naming executors John URQUHART & John 
   BOYKIN.  John BOYKIN presented the will 19 Apr 1824, the writing proved 
   by Silas SUMMERELL & Benjamin GRIFFIN, and Certificate for obtaining a 
   probat was granted John BOYKIN, with Silas SUMMERELL & James B. URQUHART 
   his Securities. (WB9:221-22)
