This Indenture made this [blank] day of November in the Year of our Lord 1826 Between Thomas E. Brock and Ann his wife of the County of Southampton and State of Virginia of the one part and Matthew Drake of the County And State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the Sum of Fifty dollars Current money of this Commonwealth to them in hand paid by the said Matthew Drake at or before the ensealing & delivery of these presents the receipt [of] which is acknowledged Have bargained and Sold unto the Said Matthew Drake his heirs and assigns a certain Tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the County aforesaid and bounded as follows Beginning at a Gum tree near the public Road and Thomas Pretlows line in a branch Called the Horse bone branch thence along Thomas Pretlows line up the public Road to James Blythes line thence along Blythes line to Benjamin Westers line thence down Westers line to Barbanas [sic; Barnabas] Drake's line then cross the said Horse bone branch to the beginning Containing Sixty eight acres be the Same more or less, it being the land that I got by marriage Polly Drake together with all & Singular the appurtenances whatsoever to the Said Land belonging or appurtaining and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders yearly and other rents issues and profits thereof and of every part and parcel thereof To. have and to hold the Said Tract or parcel of Land with the tenements hereditaments and all and Singular the other the premises herein before mentioned or intended to be bargained and sold and every part & parcel thereof with every of their rights members and appurtenances unto Matthew Drake his heirs and assigns and the Said Thomas E. Brock and Ann his wife for themselves and their heirs the Said Tract or parcel of land with all and Singular the premises & appurtenances before mentioned unto the Said Matthew Drake his heirs and assigns free from the Claim or Claims of them and the Said Thomas E. Brock and Ann his wife or either of them or either of their heirs and of all and every other person or persons whatsoever Shall will and do warrant and defend by these presents In Witness whereof the said Thomas E. Brock and Ann his wife have. hereunto Set their hands & Seals. the day and year above written Signed sealed & deliv.d in Thomas E.
