All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Southampton County Virginia USGenWeb Archives Land Records John BOYKIN, executor of Simon BOYKIN, to Jordan SPIVEY, deed of bargain & sale, 70 acres, 1 Dec 1826 (19 Mar 1827) [margin note] Boykin to Spivey This Indenture made this 1st day of December in the year of our Lord Christ 1826 Between John Boykin Exor of Simon Boykin decd of the one part and Jordan Spivey of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Boykin as Exor. aforesaid in consideration of the Sum of one hundred five dollars of lawfully money of this Commonwealth to him in hand paid by the said Jordan Spivey at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Have bargained & sold and by these presents doth bargain & sell unto the said Jordan Spivey his heirs & assigns the one certain tract or parcel of Land lying & being in the County of Southampton and parish of Nottoway Containing by Estimation Seventy acres more or less and bounded on the east by Blackwater River South by the land of Thomas Herring on the west by the land of William Crumpler and on the north by the land of John Boykin formerly Jones. place reference being had to former deed will more fully appear together with all and singular the houses out houses Edifices buildings yards gardens ways water and water courses orchards lands woods priviledges profits commodities advantages emoluments hereditaments and appurtenances to the said land belonging or in any wise appurtaining to the Same or any part or parcel thereof. To have and to hold the said 70 acres of Land with the tenements hereditament and all and singular other the premises herein before mentioned with every part and parcel thereof unto the said Jordan Spivey his heirs and assigns forever to and for the only proper use and behoof of him the said Jordan Spivey his heirs and assigns forever and the said John Boykin as Ex'or. aforesd. for himself his heirs the Said land with all and Singular the premises herein before mentioned unto the said Jordan Spivey his heirs and assigns free from the claim or claims of him the said John Boykin or his heirs and all & every other person or persons whatsoever Shall. will and do warrant and forever defend by these presents. URQUHART his Securities.
