     James B. URQUHART, trustee, to Mills E. LAWRENCE, 
        deed of bargain & sale, 200 acres, 19 Feb 1838 (19 Feb 1838)

     Know all men by these presents  that I, James B. Urquhart, trustee, to a 
deed of trust executed by Solomon Britt on the 16th day of May 1837 & duly 
recorded in the Clerk's Office of Southampton County Court for the benefit of 
James C. West have this day bargained & sold & do hereby transfer & convey to 
Mills E. Lawrence and his heirs for the Consideration of four hundred & forty 
nine dollars to me paid, a tract or parcel of Land in the County of 
Southampton in the sate of Va. containing by estimation two hundred acres 
be the same more or less & bounded by the lands of John Urquhart & John Boykin 
& Blackwater River.  To have and to hold the same to the said Mills E. 
Lawrence his heirs and assigns forever.  I, James B. Urquhart, trustee, do 
covenant to the said Mills E. Lawrence his heirs &c to transfer all my right 
title and interest to the said Land & I, James B. Urquhart, trustee, do 
further covenant & bind myself my heirs Exors. or admrs. to warrant & forever 
defend the title to the said Land & every part thereof, to the said Mills E. 
Lawrence his heirs and assigns, against the lawful claim of all persons 
claiming through or by me as trustee to the aforesaid deed of trust

At a Court held for the County of Southampton the 19th day of February 1838 
     This Indenture was acknowledged by James B. Urquhart, party thereto, to 
be his act and deed and ordered to be recorded
