LAWRENCE to William LAWRENCE, both of Isle of Wight Co., deed of bargain & sale, 100½ acres, 16 Dec 1841 (20 Dec 1841) [margin note] Lawrence to Lawrence Exd. This Indenture made this 16th day of Decr. 1841 between Mills E. Lawrence of the County of Isle of wight and state of Virginia of the One part and William Lawrence of the same County of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Mills E. Lawrence for and in Consideration of the sum of One hundred and fifty dollars and seventy five cents to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents by the said William Lawrence the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged has bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain sell and Convey to the said William Lawrence his heirs and assign a certain Lot peice or parcel of Land being in the County of Southampton, and bounded as follows begining at a willow oak near nohead swamp on the side of the road and thence down said Road to the old black water bridge thence down black water River to Jordan Johnson' line thence said Johnson' line of marked trees to a black gum a Corner tree of Allen Edwards line to the first station. Containing One hundred and a half acres be the same more or less together with all the houses and improvements thereon and appurtenances whatsoever. To have and to hold the said Lot peice or parcel of Land with all the improvements thereon to the only proper use and behoof of the said William Lawrence his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Mills E.
