JOHNSON This Indenture made this 8.th day of February in the year of our Lord, One Thousand Eight hundred and forty two, between Allen RAIFORD of the first part John J. JOHNSON of the second part and Goodwin JOHNSON of the third part, Whereas the said Allen RAIFORD is justly indebted to the said Goodwin JOHNSON in the sum of twenty five dollars, as by bond bearing date with these which debt with legal interest thereon the said Allen RAIFORD is willing and desirous to secure. Now this Indenture Witnesseth that for and in Consideration of the promises, and also for the further of One dollar to the said Allen RAIFORD in hand paid by the said John J. JOHNSON at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt is hereby acknowledged he the said Allen RAIFORD hath given granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth give grant bargain and sell to the said John J. JOHNSON his heirs and assigns forever, Two feather beds and furniture two chest One Loom and gear One Table one spinning wheel and Cards, ax, One weeding hoe, One hog, One Iron pot, spider, One Dozen plates, six knives and forks three tubs and One Can. To have and to hold the said property unto the said John J. JOHNSON his heirs and assigns forever upon trust nevertheless that the said John J. JOHNSON shall as soon as he Conveniently Can after the 25.th day of December next ensuing and having advertised the time and place of the sale of said property above mentioned by three several advertisements to be posted up at the most public places in the neighbourhood then proceed to sell the same to the highest bidder for ready Money and out of the monies arising from such sale, first pay all necessary expenses attending the Sale and then to pay to the said Goodwin JOHNSON the debt aforesaid with legal interest thereon and the balance if any he shall pay to the said Allen RAIFORD his heirs or assigns on demand, In Witness whereof the parties to these presents have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year as first above written- Allen RAIFORD *Seal* [X his mark] John Janus JOHNSON *Seal* Goodwin JOHNSON *Seal* Signed Sealed and Delivered In presence of [blank- no witnesses named] Southampton County In the Clerks Office the 9.th day of February 1842 This deed of trust between Allen RAIFORD of the first part John J.
