UZZELL to Irvin GRIFFIN, for Mordecai BRADSHAW Deed of Trust This Indenture Made and entered into this 11.th day of February in the year of our lord one thousand and fifty between William UZZELL of the first part, Irvin GRIFFIN trustee of the second part, and Mordica BRADSHAW of the third part: all of the County of Southampton and State of Virginia: Witnesseth that the said William UZELL for and in Consideration of the sum of [page break] Twenty eight Dollars which said sum is due from the said William UZELL to the said Mordecai BRADSHAW by bond bearing date 25.th December 1849, as well as all other Money which May be due and oweing from the said William UZZELL to the said Mordecai BRADSHAW by Means of any dealings transfers of debts or paper whatsoever as also for and in Consideration of one Dollar to Me the said William UZZELL in hand paid by the said Irvin GRIFFIN the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell Convey and Make over unto the said Irvin GRIFFIN his heirs & assigns forever the following property (Viz: one flint of Steel Gun; one Common silver Watch two feather beds, loom spining wheel; two chest, on eTrunk, four chairs; one pine table one pot, spider and skillet, bread hoe fire tongs &c, barrel stand and tubs; pail trays Crockery Ware knives & forks one Dozen table spoons, ½ of Do tea spoons, one tea kettle &c: To have and to hold the above granted bargained with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said Irvin GRIFFIN his heirs and assigns in trust forever And it is hereby declared to be the true intent and Meaning of these presents that if the said William UZZELL punctually pay to him the said Mordecai BRADSHAW his heirs or assigns the said sum of twenty eight Dollars with interest as well as other Monies which May be due as aforesaid unto the said Mordecai BRADSHAW then the said Irvin GRIFFIN his heirs and assigns shall hold the said property above granted to the sole and proper use & behoof of the said William UZZELL and the said Irvin GRIFFIN Covenants and agrees with the parties hereto that if the said William UZZELL his heirs Executors and adm'rs shall fail to Make payment to the said Mordecai BRADSHAW his heirs or assigns on or before the first day of September Next all the Monies which May then be due by transfer or otherwise, then the said Irvin GRIFFIN his heirs and assigns shall stand seized of the ['or'] in the granted & bargained property for the purpose following: Viz. that at the request of the said Mordecai BRADSHAW his heirs or assigns the said Irvin GRIFFIN his heirs Executors admin.s or assigns shall give ten days' Notice and sell at public auction the aforesaid property, and shall pay the Money arising therefrom to the said Mordecai BRADSHAW his heirs or assigns so far forth [?] as shall be then due him from the said William UZZELL his heirs or assigns as within specified and after satisfying all expenses remaining or arising from said Notice & sale shall pay the Surplus Money to the said William UZZELL or his assigns.
