HARRIS [brackets, line breaks & surname capitalization mine] Southampton Co., VA, Deed Book 28 (1850-1856), p. 646 7 Sep 1855 Cherry LOWE to Benjamin JOYNER Deed of Gift Know all men by these presents, that I, Cherry LOWE of the County of Southampton and State of Virginia, for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which I bear to my son in law Benjamin JOYNER of the same County and State, as well as for the further consideration of one dollar to me in hand paid by the said Benjamin JOYNER at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, has given, granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents do give, grant, bargain and sell unto the said Benjamin JOYNER his Heirs and assigns- forever the following real and personal property to wit: one certain tract or parcel of land Situate, lying and being in the aforesaid County of Southampton, Containing by estimation ten acres be the same more or less, and bounded by the land of Alfred RICKS and others; also, two feather beds and furniture; two small chests; one Trunk; Two tables; five chairs; One Spinning wheel and cards; one bucket; and Two tubs, one tray, and one Meal Stand, all my knives and forks and crockery ware, Two pots and hooks, one frying pan; and one safe; To have and to hold the above described tract or parcel of land and premises with the appurtenances thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining: together with the above named personal property unto him the said Benjamin JOYNER; his Heirs; Executors, Administrstors and assigns forever; And the said Cherry LOWE for herself,her Heirs, Executors, and Adm'rs the said tract or parcel of land and premises, with the appurtenances thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining, together with the above named personal property unto the said Benjamin JOYNER His Heirs, Executors, administrators and assigns forever against the claim or claims of against the claim of her the said Cherry LOWE, her Heirs Executors, and Adm'rs. and against the claim or claims of of all and every person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend them by these presents.
