RAIFORD Deed of Bargain & Sale [p.] 663 [margin note] Exam'd Delivered to W. RAIFORD This Deed made this 10.th day of February in the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy seven between Thomas J. LOWE of the first part, and Edward J. RAIFORD of the second part, Witnesseth, That in consideration of the sum of One hundred and fifty ($150) dollars, the said Thomas J. LOWE doth grant unto the said Edward J. RAIFORD with general warranty, all of his right, title and interest to a certain piece or parcel of land Containing fifty acres more or less, lying in the County of Southampton State of Virginia, and bounded as follows: Commencing at a corner pine on Murphry HEADSPETH line; thence 73 West, 39 pole to a small branch; thence due South 14 pole, a variation South 12 pole, a variation due South 8 pole, a.v. South 15 east, 9 2/3 pole to ground bridge across the road leading to Berlin; thence along the road South 85. West 19 2/3 pole to the sign-post; thence along the Franklin road South 17 West 80 pole, a variation; thence South 20 west, 8 pole; thence due South 88 to last station, and bounded on the east by the lands of Ja.s B. HEADSPETH; on the West by T.J. BRISTER's dec.d land; South by T.J. LOWE; on the north by Murphy HEADSPETH and T.J. BRISTER dec.d. The said Thomas J. LOWE Covenants that he has the right to convey the said land to the grantee; that he has done no act to encumber the said land; that the grantee shall have quiet possession of the said land, from all encumbrances, and that Thomas J. LOWE of the first part, will execute such further assurances of the said land as may be requisite. Witness the following signature and seal. T.J.
