     deed of bargain & sale, 2a., Jerusalem, 10 Mar 1881

This Deed, made the 10th. day of March in the year Eighteen hundred and Eighty one 
between William H. Jenkins of the County of Southampton in the State of Virginia  
of the first part, and John Bowers  Irvin Crumpler  Geo C Holmes  Charles B 
Crumpler. Charles C Joyner (Deacons) Dr Jno.C. Griffin and Alfred .T. Stephenson (Trustees) 
for the Baptist Church known as Tucker Swamp Baptist Church in the County 
of Southampton and State of Virginia. of the second part,  Witnesseth, That in 
consideration of the sum of one cent, and in the further consideration of the love  good 
will and friendly regard which the said Wm.H. Jenkins has for the said church, the 
said William H. Jenkins do grant, with general warranty, unto the said John 
Bowers, Irvin Crumpler  Geo .C. Holmes  Chas.B. Crumpler Cas M Joyner, Dr 
Jno.C. Griffin and Alfred .T. Stephenson Trustees for the aforesaid Tucker Swamp 
Baptist Church situated as aforesaid. all that lot or parcel of land situated in 
the County of Southampton and State of Virginia. bounded and described as 
follows, commencing on in the County Road leading from Zuni to Branches 
Bridge. at corner on the lot or parcel of land belonging to the aforesaid Tucker 
Swamp Baptist Church  thence a line alongside lot to a postoak a point on 
Jno C Griffin, thence a line of marked Trees back to the said County Road to a 
marked pine tree a corner on the said Jno C Griffin, thence along said County 
Road to the corner on the lot belonging to the aforesaid Church, it being the point 
of begining, containing Two acres more or less, and the said lot or parcel of land 
is triangularly shaped,  It is covenanted that this lot of two acres more or less is to be 
used solely for the benefit of the aforesaid Church, for a cemitary, or burrying Grond, or 
for any other purpose which in the judgement of the Trustees aforesaid or their 
successors, may be deemed best for the interest of the aforesaid church, the said William 
H. Jenkins covenants that [he] has the right to convey the said land to the grantee, that 
he has done no act to encumber the said land; that the grantee shall have quit [sic; quiet] 
possession of the said land, free from all incumbrances; and that. he the said party of 
the first part will execute such further assurances of the said land as may be requisite, 
Witness the following signature and seal

                                I K.M. Urquhart a Notary Public for 
the corporation aforesaid, in the State of Virginia, do certify the said William H. Jenkins 
whose name is signed to the writing above, bearing date on the 10th. day of March 
in the year Eighteen hundred and Eighty one (1881) has acknowledged the same before 
me, in corporation aforesaid,

Deed of Bargain & Sale from Wm.H. Jenkins to the Trustees of Tucker Swamp 
Baptist Church, was this day received and with the certificate thereto annexed 
admitted to record.
