To all &c. Know ye for divers good causes and considerations but more especially for and in Consideration of the sum of Fifteen shillings of Good and lawful money for our use paid to our Receiver General of our Revenues in this our Colony and Dominion of Virginia We have Given Granted and Confirmed and by these presents for us our Heirs & Successors Do Give Grant and Confirm unto Barnaby Drake one certain Tract or Parcel of Land containing one hundred and thirty five Acres lying and being in the County of Southampton on the North side of Nottoway Swamp and bounded as followeth to wit Beginning at a Pine in a line of Lazarus Johnson's Land by the ~ side of the Miry branch thence by the said Johnson's lines South sixty Poles to a Red oak and South thirty eight Degrees West one hundred and ten Poles to a ~ Pine by the side of the reedy branch thence up the various courses of the said branch to a pine a corner tree of Thomas Oberry thence by the said Oberry's line East ninety Poles to a hickory a corner of David Burn's Land thence by the said Burn's line North thirty Degrees East seventy four Poles to a Gum by the side of the South Prong of the Cypress Swamp thence up the various courses of the run of the said swamp to the mouth of the Miry branch aforesaid and up the various courses of the run of the said branch to the beginning. With all &c. To have hold &c. To be held &c. Yielding and Paying &c. Provided &c. In Witness &c. Witness our Trusty and welbeloved Francis Fauquier.
