JOHNSON Deed of Bargain & Sale [margin notes] Exam'd sent by mail to C.B. CRUMPLER Zuni, V.a Dec 11/83 This Deed made this 29.th day of November in the year one thousand Eight hundred & Eighty three, between Thomas J. LOWE, R.M. EDWARDS, BRADSHAW's trustee, & W.F. BRADSHAW and Martha A., his wife, of the first part, and S.W. JOHNSON of the second part, Witnesseth: that in consideration of the sum of ($100.~) one hundred dollars, the said parties of the first part, do grant unto the said S.W. JOHNSON, & his heirs forever, with general warranty, all their right, title and interest in a certain piece or parcel of land, it being a part of what is known as the T.J. LOWE tract, which was originally a part of the Irwin GRIFFIN Tract, Containing (50) fifty acres, be the same more or less, and bounded as follows, Vix: North by the land of A.W. BRANCH, East by the land of William BOYKIN, South by the land of R.M. EDWARDS, and on the west by the remaining portion of the T.J. LOWE Tract, along a line of chopped trees, Comencing [underlined] at a Corner Pine in Ice Pond [page break] [p.] 312 branch, and running straight a Northerly Course to another Corner Pine in the line between the said T.J. LOWE tract and the said A.W. BRANCHes land. The said parties of the first part covenant that they have the right to Convey the said land, to the grantee, that they have done no act to encumber the said land, that the said grantee shall have quiet possession of the said land, free from all encumbrances [underlined], and that they the said parties of the first part will execute such further assurances of the said land as may be requisite. BRADSHAW, whose names are signed to the within writing, bearing date on the 29.th day of November 1883, personally appeared before me privily and apart from her husband, and having the writing aforesaid fully explained to her, she, the said Martha A. BRADSHAW acknowledged the said writing to be her act, and declared that she had willingly executed the same and does not wish to retract it. Given under my hand this 29.th day of November 1883- R.A.
