CRUMPLER Zuni, V.a Dec 11"/83 Released Feb 21" 1887 R.D.B. #1, p. 53 This Deed Made this 30.th day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand, Eight hundred and Eighty three, between S.W. JOHNSON & Mary K, his Wife, of the County of Southampton, Virginia, of the first part; and Alfred T. STEPHENSON, of the County of Southampton, Virginia, of the second part. Witnesseth: that the said parties of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of five dollars, paid by the party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do grant and convey unto the said party of the second part, the following property, to wit: a certain piece or parcel of land, Known as a part of the T.J. LOWE tract, it being the same that was conveyed by deed on the 29.th day of November 1883, from T.J. LOWE, R.M. EDWARDS, BRADSHAW's trustee, & W.F. BRADSHAW & wife, to the said S.W. JOHNSON Containing fifty acres, more or less, and bounded by the lands of A.W. BRANCH & others. In trust to secure unto C.B. CRUMPLER, the payment of a bond executed by S.W. JOHNSON for the sum of one hundred dollars, bearing date on the 30.th day of November 1883. Witness the following signatures and seals, the day and year above written: S.W. JOHNSON, whose name is signed to the writing above, bearing date on the 30.th of November 1883, acknowledged the same before me in the County aforesaid. Given under My hand this 30.th day of November 1883. R.A. BRISTOW N.P. Virginia, Southampton County: To wit: I, R.A. BRISTOW, a Notary Public for the County of Southampton in the State of Virginia, do certify that Mary K. JOHNSON, the wife of S.W. JOHNSON, whose names are signed to the writing within, bearing date the 30.th of November 1883, personally appeared before me, in the County aforesaid, and being duly examined by me, privily and apart from her husband and having the writing aforesaid fully explained to her, she, the said Mary K. JOHNSON, acknowledged the said writing to be her act, and declared that she had willingly executed the same, and does not wish to retract it. Given under my hand this 30.th day of November 1883. R.A.
