Know ye for divers good Causes & Considerations but more especially for and in Consideration of the sum of Thirty five Shillings of good and lawful money for our use paid to our receiver General of our Revenues in this our Colony and Dominion of Virginia We have and by these presents for us our Heirs & Successors Do give grant and confirm given granted and confirmed ^ unto Ann Closier one certain tract or parcel of Land containing three hundred and thirty acres lying and being in the County of Southampton on the South side of the main black water Swamp [page break] [p.] (625) Swamp and bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning at a red Oak a Corner tree of Bridgman Joyner's Land thence by Joyner's Lines North forty degrees East one hundred and thirty two Poles to a Gum then North one hundred and thirty three Poles to a white Oak a line tree of Thomas Swann's Land then by Swann's Line North sixty degrees West ninety one Poles to a red Oak Saplin South West by South three hundred and sixty six Poles to a lightwood Post then South East one hundred and twenty Poles to a Gum in the horse-bone branch and North East one hundred and fifty seven Poles to the Beginning With all &c. To have hold &c. To be held &c. Yielding & Paying &c. Provided &c. In Witness &c.
