(RAIFORD) to Carr MUNFORD Deed of Bargain & Sale [margin notes] Exam'd Tax 50¢ This Deed made the 4.th day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty nine between Moody A. MUNFORD and Susan E. MUNFORD his wife of County of Southampton in the State of Virginia, of the one part, and Carr MUNFORD of said County and State of the other part- Witnesseth: That in consideration of the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars the receipt of which is acknowledged the said Moody A. MUNFORD and Susan E. MUNFORD his wife, do grant, with general warranty, unto the said Carr MUNFORD and to his heirs and assigns forever the following real estate, to wit: That tract of land known as the S.W. JOHNSON tract, it being the same on which the said Moody MUNFORD now resides & which was conveyed by and from S.W. JOHNSON to the said Moody A. MUNFORD, containing (50) fifty acres, More or less, and bounded by the land of Thomas J. LOWE and others and more particularly described in said deed from said S.W. JOHNSON to said Moody A. MUNFORD, together with all and singular the appurtenances belonging to the same. And the said Moody A. MUNFORD on his part covenants that he has the right to convey the said land to the said grantee; that the said grantee shall have quiet possession of the said land; that he has done no act to encumber the said land; and that he will execute all such further assurance of the said land as may be requisite.
