MUNFORD Deed of Bargain & Sale [margin notes] Examd & delivered to Moody MUNFORD M'ch 11" 1895 This Agreement made and entered into this 12th day of September 1891, between Everett RAIFORD and Martha C. RAIFORD his wife of Southampton Co. Va. of the one part; and Moody A. MUNFORD, of said County and State, of the other part, Witnesseth, that in consideration of the sum of Seven hundred and and 00/100 Dollars the said parties of the first part have this day sold unto the said party of the second part, the tract of land known as the HOLCLAW [?- difficult; rendered HOLDEN, DB46:118] Tract, lying on Round Hill Swamp, in Southampton Co. Va, containing 140 acres Moore [sic] or less, and bounded by the lands of Murphy HEDGEPETH and others, The receipt of three hundred and fifty and 00/100 Dollars, cash in hand ["paid" struck out], is hereby acknowledged by the said parties of the first part, and they the said parties of the first part do hereby covenant and agree that, on the payment of the remaining three hundred and fifty and 00/100 Dollars of the purchase price, they will execute to the said Moody A. MUNFORD a deed with general warranty, for the said tract of land. The deferred payment bears interest at 6 per centum from the first day of January 1892.
