Holliman James Barbour Esqr., Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia To all to whom these presents shall come greeting, Know ye That by virtue of a Land Office Treasury Warrant No. 3017, issued November 21st, 1800, there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Joseph Britt a certain tract or parcel of land containing Forty two acres, by Survey bearing date the 7th day of January, 1810; situate in the County of Southampton, and bounded as followeth to wit: Beginning at a pine stump corner to Moses Johnson, thence north eighty seven degrees, west one hundred and thirty four poles to a pine corner in John Harriss' line. thence north fifty degrees, west thirty poles to a large green pine, corner in Absolam Williamson's line; thence north fifty five degrees, east sixty three poles to a red oak, in Williamson's line, thence north ten degrees, east forty six poles to a red (oak) [page break] [p.] (186) oak; a corner in Absolam Williamson's line also a corner in John Williamson and Moses ~ Johnson's lines and thence south thirty four degrees, east one hundred and sixty poles to the beginning With its appurtenances : To ~ Have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its Appurtenances to the said Joseph Britt and his heirs forever In Witness whereof the said James Barbour Esqr.
