VA Deed Bk. 8, pg 627 FHLC #34008 To all to Whom these presents shall come Greeting, Know ye that I, Benjamin Barham of Southampton County and State of Virginia for and in Consideration of ninety Pounds, to me, in hand paid by Richard Rose & Joseph Wrenn, of Sussex County, the receipt whereof I the said Benjamin Barham, do hereby acknowledge, have bargained & Sold unto the said Rose & Wrenn, one Negro woman & Child ???? Patience & Le??on, to have and to hold the said Negroes & their increase to the sd Rose & Wrenn their heirs and assigns forever and the sd Benjamin Barham for myself my heirs Executors & administrators do warrant the title of the said Negroes to them the said Richard Rose & Joseph Wrenn, or their heirs Executors, administrators or assigns against him the said Benjamin Barham and against every other person whatsoever.
