Beverly Randolph Esquire Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia to all to whom these presents shall come Greeting Know ye by Virtue and in consideration of part of Land office Treasury Warrant number nineteen thousand six hundred and ninety nine ISsued the third day of october one thousand Seven hundred and eighty three, There is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Simon Murfree a certain Tract or parcel of Land Containing Three hundred and forty five acres by survey bearing Date the third day of May one Thousand Seven hundred and eighty six lying and being in the county of Southampton in the parish of Nottoway two hundred and eighty one acres being formerly Granted the residue never before granted and bounded as followeth To Wit Beginning at a gum standing in the ceadir swamp a corner of a Tract of Vacant Land thence along the line of the said Land West forty two poles to a gum in the joining swamp thence up said swamp by a line of marked trees two hundred and twenty nine poles to a gum a corner of Henry Cobbs Land thence along his line South thirty three degrees Westerly nine poles to a cypareSs in the cyprus Swamp thence up the run of said Swamp one hundred and thirty two poles to a black gum in Albridgton Joness line thence along his line north Seventy one 603 degrees East thirty six poles to a dead pine thence fifty four degrees East twenty five poles to a hickory thence north Ten degrees West eighty four poles Red oak Rock corner of the Land late belonging to Arthur Applewhite Dec'd thence along the lines of the same north thirty four degrees East twenty six poles to a gum thence north thirty degrees East eighty four poles a white oak stump thence north Eleven degrees East forty three poles to a red oak thence South sixty nine degrees East fifty one poles to an ash standing on the cedir swamp thence down the run of said swamp two hundred twenty two poles to the Beginning with its Appurtenances to have and to hold the said Tract or parcel of Land within to the said Simon Murfree and his Heirs forever In WitneSs whereof the said Beverly Randolph Esquire Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto set his hand and caused the leSser seal of the Said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the twenty eight day of August in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven and of the Commonwealth the Twelfth.
