Patrick Henry Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, To all to whom these presents shall come, Greeting: Know ye, that by Virtue and in Consideration of part of a Land Office Treasury Warrant Number thirteen thousand nine hundred and ninety eight and Issued the Twenty seventh day of August one Thousand seven hundred and Eighty two there is granted by the said Commonwealth, unto Joseph Britt Assignee of Nathaniel Fleming a certain Tract or parcel of Land [page break] [p.] (121 Containing Eighty six Acres by Survey bearing date the Tenth day of May one thousand seven hundred & Eighty four Lying and being in the County of Southampton and Parish of Nottoway and Bounded as followeth To wit, Beginning at a pine Corner of Matthew Britts Land thence along his Line South forty two degrees East one hundred and twenty four poles to a red oak Stump thence South fifty seven degrees East twenty poles to an oak Sapling a Corner of Edward Britts Land thence along a Line of markd trees North fifty seven degrees East fourteen poles to a pine Sapling in John Claytons Line thence along his Line South thirty three degrees East twelve poles to a pine Sapling thence North Seventeen degrees East fifty two poles to a pine Stump thence North fifty eight degrees East one hun- dred and thirty seven poles to a pine Stump a Corner of Burwell Williamsons Land thence along his Line North forty eight degrees West forty four poles A Corner of Harman Harris's Land thence along his Line South seven degrees W 32 poles to a pine to a pine ^ thence West two hundred and thirteen poles to the Beginning With its Appurtenances; To have and to hold the said Tract or parcel of Land, With its Appurtenances, to the said Joseph Britt and his Heirs for ever.
