Witnesseth that the said John Sykes and Lucey his Wife for and in consideration of the sum of Forty pounds current money to them in hand paid by the said Olive Thorpe the receipt Whereof the said John Sykes & Wife Doth hereby acknowledge hath granted Bargained and sold and by these presents Doth grant Bargain Sell alien & Confirm unto the said Olive Thorpe her heirs and assigns forever all that tract piece or parcel of land the said John Sykes now lives on Containing by Estimation one hundred and twenty five Acres more or less and Bounded as followeth Beginning at a Hickory in William West lines, thence along West Lines an Easterly Course to a Lightwood post a corner in Nicholas Morris's lines thence by the said Morris's lines & Jesse Kitchin to a large Pine a corner of Jesse Lanes thence along Lane's lines to a white oak a corner of the widow Holt's Land and John Thorpes thence along Thorpes lines to the Beginning, and also all trees woods under woods Waters and watercourses with all profits commodities advantages Hereailiments Emducments & Appurtenances Whatsoever Belonging or in any wise appertaining to the said premises above mentioned and the reversion & reversions remainder and remainders rents and Services of in and to the said Premises and every part thereof To have and to hold the said Premises with the appurtenances thereunto Belonging to the said Olive Thorpe her heirs and assigns forever. To the only proper use and behalf of the said Olive Thorpe her heirs & assigns forever, and the said John Sykes and wife Lucey for themselves their heirs & the said Messuage Tenement and premises and every part thereof. Against them their heirs and against all and every other person or persons Whatsoever unto the said Olive Thorpe her heirs and assigns forever, shall & will warrant & forever defend In Witness whereof the said John Sykes & Lucey his wife hath hereunto set their hand and affixt their seals the Day & Year above written. This deed was Acknowledged by John Sykes & Lucey his Wife parties thereto, She having been first privily Examined as the Law Directs, freely & Voluntarily Relinquishes her right to Dower to the Lands Conveyed by the said Deed and ordered to be Recorded.
