This Indenture made this eleventh day of October one thousand seven hundred
sixty nine Between Joel Davis of Southampton County of the one part and
Richard Renn of the county of Surry of the other part Witnesseth that the said
Joel Davis for and in consideration of the sum of fifty five pounds current
Money of Virginia to him in hand paid at or before the ensealing and Delivery
of these presents the receipt of which and himself fully satisfyd  contented
and  paid doth hereby acknowledge hath granted Bargained and Sold alined and
confirmed and by these presents doth give grant bargain Sell alien and confirm
unto the said Richard Renn his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or
parcel of land lying and being in the county of Southampton aforesaid
containing by estimation one hundred & ten acres more or less & bounded as
followeth Beginning a live oak in Tompsons branch thence runing up the said
branch to the mouth of a little branch that Divides Joel & Ethd Daviss land
thence up the Various courses of the run of the small branch to a red Oak a
corner t?ce of Etheldred Davis Robert Baileys & Richd Renns own lands thence
South Southwest Seventy six pole to a white Oak thence South west by South
sixty four poles to a red Oak thence South south west Seventy two pole to a
hickory thence west north west Seventy two pole to the Begining also all woods
underwoods ways water & water courses and with all profits Commodities &
advantages whatsoever to the same belonging or in any ways appertaining and
also the reversion and reversions remainder & remainders unto & Services of
the said premises and of every part & parcel thereof and also all the estate
right title interest claim and demand whatsoever of him the said Joel Davis of
in and to the same premises and every part thereof To have and to hold all &
singular the above premises above mentioned and every part and parcel thereof
with their appertinances unto the said Richd Renn his heirs & assigns to the
only proper use & behoof of the said Richd Renn his heirs & assigns forever
and the Said Joel Davis for himself his Heirs &C the above mentioned premises
and every part thereof against him & his heirs & assigns and against all and
every other person or persons whatsoever to the said Richd Renn his Heirs &
assigns shall & will defend by these presents
