Anno domini One thousand eight hundred and fourteen between Judith Rochelle of Southampton County of the one Part and Benjamin Wren of the same county as aforesaid of the other Part Witnesseth that the said Judith Rochelle for and in Consideration of the sum of Ninety three Pounds fifteen shillings to her in hand paid by the said Benjamin Wrenn the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged She the said Judith Rochelle have granted bargaind and sold and by these Presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Benjamin Wrenn and to his heirs and assigns forever all her Interest right and title to one certain tract or Parcel of land in Southampton County supposed to contain four hundred and eighty Six acres (be the same more or less) it being the land whereon Thomas Gilliam formerly lived (which she recovered on the twenty second day of October 1813 by a suit in the high Court of Chancery) on the south side of Racoon swamp and is bounded as followeth beginning at a Persimon tree on the said swamp on Robert Nicholsons line thence along the said Nicholsons line to the line of the land belonging to the Estate of Kinchen Jelks? deceased thence along the said line to the Racoon swamp thence down the various courses of the said swamp to the beginning and also the Reversion &reversions Remainder and Remainders thereof together with all the estate right title property claim and demand whatsoever to the said tract or Parcel of land belonging To have and to hold the said land & Premises with all the appurtenances thereto belonging rents they said Benjamin Wrenn his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Benjamin Wrenn his heirs and assigns forever and the said Judith Rochelle for herself her heirs executors and adms the said tract or Parcel of land and Premises with all and singular appurtenances unto the said Benjamin Wrenn his heirs and assigns against the claim of her the said Judith Rochelle and her heirs shall and will and do warrant and forever defend by these Presents ------- In Witness whereof the said Judith Rochelle have hereunto set her hand and seal the day and year first above written ----- Signed Sealed and acknowledged } Judith Rochelle (Seal) In Presence of us At a Court held for the County of Southampton the day of December 1814 This Indenture having been acknowledged in the Clerks office by Judith Rochelle Party thereto in Presence of an act of assembly in such case made and Provided as is ordered to be Recorded -------- James Rochelle Cl ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
