SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - MILITARY - Jesse Williford, Revolutionary War Medical Pension Affidavit ----¤¤¤---- Source: Library of Virginia Digital Collection Williford, Jesse Pen. 454 1832-1840 Southampton County Know all men by these presents that I John Williford of the County of Southampton, a pensioner of the state of Virginia (placed on the pension list by an Act of Assembly passed on the 28th day of Feb. 1822, do hereby constitute and appoint Benjamin Griffin of Southampton County, my true and lawful attorney for me, and in my hand to receive from the treasury of Virginia, my pension from the 28th day of February 1832 to the 28th day of February 1833. ___ of my hand and seal this the 19th day of November 1832. Sealed and delivered in presence of Elijah Joyner. Signed: Jesse Williford. Williford received $60 yearly. Southampton County: Personally appeared Wealthy Blythe before me-Nicholas M. Tebrell--Justice of the Peace in and for the County of the aforesaid and made that the within named Chevey? Williford who surrendered the within power of attorney is the Widow of Jesse Williford.
