  Rev. W. A. Pearson, for several years past the pastor of the Byrne-Street 
Baptist church in this city, will preach his farewell sermon on Sunday night, 
and on Tuesday next will leave for his new field of labor in Southampton 
county.  During his ministry here he has labored earnestly, zealously and 
successfully, and his departure will be generally regretted.  The Byrne-Street 
congregation have as yet taken no action as to the selection of Mr. Pearson's 
successor.
