[...] The following changes were made in the Virginia postoffices to day: Joseph E. Giles was appointed postmaster at Calland's, Pittsylvania county, vice W. F. Mitchel, resigned; Mrs. Mary B. Leigh at Aylett's, King William co., vice G.C. Leigh, deceased ; Thos. M. Crosby at Free Union, Albemarle county., vice W.B. Yager, deceased. Postoffices were established at Yanktown, Rockingham co., with Nicholas Laurant as postmaster; at Kentuck, Pittsylvania co., with P.P. Shepard, jr., as postmaster; at Pemberton, Goochland co., with T.W. Douglas as postmaster, and at Shraders, Tazewell co., with T.G. Crocket as postmaster. The name of the postoffice at Aldrich's Crossing, Spottsylvania co . was changed to Aldrich; that at Zuni Station, Isle of Wight co., to Zuni; at Trevillian's Depot, Louisa co., to Trevillian; at Rectortown Station, Fauquier co., to Rectortown; at Oldham's Cross Roads, Westmoreland co., to Oldham's; at Newsom's Depot, Southampton, to Newsom's. Cogbill, at Turner's store, Caroline county, vice J.B. Garnett, resigned ; the office at Cold Harbor, Hanover county, was discontinued, the papers that were sent there to go to Richmond; and offices established at Longfield, Lee county, with W.P. McNeil as postmaster; at Ervinton, Dickerson county, with Mrs. Emily P. Thornburg as postmaster, and at Cary's, Southampton county, with R.F. Barham, as postmaster.
