SHANDS, of Courtland, Southampton Co., VA donated trees for Capitol Square, Apr 1906; hospitalized, Jul 1906; discharged, Aug 1906 TREES FOR ARBOR DAY Senator William Shands, of Southampton, has sent Governor Swanson some trees to be planted on Arbor Day in the Capital Square, and while they arrived a little late, they were planted yesterday. ****************************************************************************** State Senator William Shands, of Courtland, Va., is undergoing treatment at the hospital here. ****************************************************************************** Senator William Shands, of Courtland, Southampton County, Va. has so far recovered from his severe illness at the Virginia Hospital that he will be able to leave by boat for his home tomorrow.
