Simon Fraser Blunt, U.S.N., of Southampton County, Virginia, in 1846. He was the son of Dr. Samuel Blunt and Mary McDonald Fraser, of Southampton County. Other residents of Southampton County named Blunt and apparently related to Dr. Samuel Blunt and Lt. Simon Fraser Blunt, were Dr. Simon Blunt and Benjamin Blunt. Dr. Simon Blunt is said to have been the proprietor of the Belmont estate, Southampton County. One author, referring to this estate in 1900, stated that it was located on the Atlanta and Danville Railroad, near Pope's Station. At the turn of the last century, the owner of the estate was supposed to have been one R.S. Pope. Would you please publish this letter in the Tidewater News, asking your readers to send me any information they may have regarding the above-mentioned men? Your kind and generous assistance, and that of your readers, will be very much appreciated. Sincerely yours, Edward A.
