All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ BENJAMIN RANDOLPH APPLEWHITE COURTLAND - Benjamin Randolph Applewhite, age 88 years, retired farmer of the Courtland community, died Wednesday night at his home after failing health for many months. He was the husband of the late Loulie Vaughan Applewhite and the son of Albert Moore and Laura Saunders Applewhite, of Southampton County. He was a member of the Vincent Grove Methodist Church. Surviving are one son, Claude S. Applewhite, Courtland; two daughters; Miss Bernice Virginia Applewhite, Courtland, and Mrs. Ann V. Underwood, of Franklin; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Dollie Dickens, Capron. Funeral services will be held from the Holland Funeral Chapel, Franklin, Friday at 3 p.m. by the Rev. J.S. Peebles, pastor of Capron Methodist Church. Burial will be made in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland. Active pallbearers will be Roland Vaughan, Carol Dickens, Frank Marks, Lloyd Allen Applewhite, William Davis, Emmett Applewhite, Emmett Vaughan and Thomas Vaughan.
