Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles B. Spivey and the Rev. Robert D. Fridley, pastor of High Street United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland. Pallbearers were Emmett Vaughan, Thomas Vaughan, Roland Vaughan, Emmett Applewhite, Lloyd Allen Applewhite and Eugene Applewhite. Miss Applewhite, 60, died Tuesday morning at the home of her sister, Mrs. James T. Underwood, 209 South Street, after a short illness. A native of Southampton County, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Randolph, and Mrs. Lula Vaughan Applewhite, of Southampton County. A member of Vincent Grove Methodist Church, and employee of the Hancock Peanut Company, Courtland. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Annie Underwood, Franklin; and one brother, Claude S. Applewhite of Courtland, and several nieces and nephews.
