Holland & Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. Bobby Tyson, pastor of Courtland United Methodist Church. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland. Pallbearers were J.T. Pearson III, Thomas A. Pearson, James E. Pearson, H. Gordon Pearson, Allen Applewhite, John Hardy Carter, John Linwood and Jesse Drewry. Mrs. Applewhite, 52, died Friday at 1:30 a.m. in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk. A native of Southampton County, she was a daughter of Willie H. and Mrs. Maggie* Bryant Baugham and the wife of Emmette M. Applewhite. She was a member of Courtland United Methodist Church and Women's Society of Christian Service. She was a past matron of Order of Eastern Star, president of Past Matrons and Patrons Club of Eastern Star, and past president of Nottoway River Women's Club. Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Jackie Moore Applewhite of Suffolk; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Johnson of Capron and Mrs. Susie Underwood of Franklin; and two brothers, Robert Baugham of Boykins and Olie Baugham of Norfolk.
