APPLEWHITE, COURTLAND RESIDENT, DIES Courtland, Nov. 17 - Mrs. Lulie Vaughan Applewhite, 79, resident of Courtland, died Sunday night in a Franklin hospital after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Virginia DeBerry Vaughan, of Southampton County. She was a member of the Vincent Grove Methodist Church. Surviving her are her widower, B.R. Applewhite, of Courtland; one son, C.S. Applewhite of Sebrell; two daughters, Miss Bernice Applewhite, of Courtland, and Mrs. J.P. Underwood, of Franklin, and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the Holland Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m., Tuesday, with the Rev. Otis Gilliam officiating. Burial will be in the Courtland Cemetery. "Loulie" Lula J.
