Applewhite, of Capron, after a short illness. She was an only child. Funeral services will be conducted at the Applewhite residence tomorrow afternoon at 3 o’clock by the Rev. Leon Ramsey, of Capron, assisted by the Rev. H.S. Williams, of Chase City. Burial will be in the family cemetery. Pallbearers will be J.B. Johnson, P.W. Small, T.E. Nicholson, W.B. Simmons, R.L. McGee and W.H. Story. ******************************************************************************** MARY LOUISA APPLEWHITE Miss Mary Louisa Applewhite, 18 years of age, the only child of Dr. and Mrs. J.N. Applewhite of Capron, died Sunday evening, January 12 after an illness of one month. She was a member of the Senior Class of the Capron High School, beloved by her teachers and classmates as a conscientious fellow student. She was a communicant of Applewhite’s Methodist Church and an enthusiastic member of its Sunday school. She will be greatly missed by her Sunday school class as well as by her classmates. Funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon, January 13, at 3 o’clock by Rev. Clifford Ramsey, assisted by Rev. H.T. Williams of Chase City. "Asleep in Jesus" and "Some Day We’ll Understand" were sung by a group of friends. The active pallbearers were: P.W. Smith, J.B. Johnson, W.B. Simmons, L.R. Magee, S.E. Richardson, Jr. and W.H. Story. The honorary pallbearers were members of the Senior Class and other friends. Burial was in the family cemetery, there being many beautiful floral tributes.
