All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ MARTHA MAPLES ASHBY Martha Maples Ashby, daughter of Edward Bassett Ashby and the late Mrs. Lottie Pulley Ashby of Berlin, died at the home of her grandfather, B.S. Ashby, at Accomac Monday, August 21, age the age of 19 years. In March, 1929, Miss Ashby developed tubercular pneumonia and upon partial recovery went to Blue Ridge Sanatorium where she remained until July, 1921. From then until May of this year she lived with her father at Berlin. Since May she has been with her grandfather and uncle, Pierce Ashby, at Accomac. She is survived by her father, a stepmother, her grandfather and four half brothers, Frederick, Bailey, Edward Ashby, Jr. and Charles Ashby of Berlin. Funeral services were held in Accomac with Rev. F.D. Thomas officiating and interment was made in Edge Hill Cemetery.
