Acree was a retired Railroad Section Foreman for Camp Manufacturing and Co. He was a native of Bertie County, N.C., and had been living in the community for the past 25 years. He was a member of the Roanoke Rapids Baptist Church. He was the son of John and Mrs. Fannie Bond Acree of North Carolina. He is surviving by his wife, Mrs. Julia Bond Acree; one son, Walter Linwood Acree of Norfolk; six daughters, Mrs. Virginia A. Terry of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; Mrs. Thelma A. Felts of Franklin, Mrs. Eloise A. Daniel of Whaleyville, Mrs. Annie Darden and Mrs. Juanita A. Comstock of Norfolk and Mrs. Betty Jane A. Cronk of Midland, Mich., one brother, Elwood Acree and one sister, Mrs. Mary Peakes Bith of Scotland Neck, N.C., 16 grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren.
