WILLIAM JOSEPH ATKINSON 

   WINDSOR - A funeral service for William Joseph Atkinson, 52, was held 
Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, by Dr. R.E. Brittle. 
Burial was in Southampton Memorial Park.

   Atkinson died Monday in a hospital.

   A native of Isle of Wight County, he was the husband of Ruth Bailey 
Atkinson.

   He was a Army veteran of World War II and a retired farmer.  He was a 
Baptist.

   Other survivors include his mother, Josephine Braswell Williams of 
Franklin; two daughters Dorothy Ann Atkinson and Peggy Atkinson, and a son, 
Joe Atkinson, all of North Carolina; two sisters, Louise Crocker of Hampton 
and Shirley Robertson of Holland; and a brother, Donnie Williams of North 
Carolina.
