All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ EDGAR BRYON ALLEN Edgar Bryon Allen, age 52, a resident of Franklin for the past five years, died suddenly at his home in Walnut Street Saturday afternoon. He was the son of the late Louis G. and Sarah Jane Allen of Ohio, and husband of Mrs. Margaret Bottenfield Allen of Franklin. Mr. Allen was an employee of the Chesapeake-Camp Corp., and was a member of the Baptist Church in Covington. Besides his wife he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Gladys Francis Cobanks of Newport News; three brothers, Sam and Doff Allen of Hot Springs and Virgil Allen of Boston; one sister, Mrs. Mollie Loan of Covington. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the Franklin Baptist Church by the Rev. R.D. Stephenson. Interment was in Poplar Spring Cemetery, pallbearers being Roy Bryant, Fred and John Williams, Lawrence Matroff, F.M. Smith, Andrew Bednarick, Bernard Gillette, Stanley Shodzenski.
